Respect of the Realm provides an engaging single-player experience where players are tasked with managing their barons, collecting taxes, equipping armies, and negotiating alliances amid historical conflicts. Experience the challenges posed by the French monarchy and the Holy Roman Empire during the Hundred Years' War, or engage in combat as European Crusaders against the Seljuk Turks in the First Crusade. Each faction features unique AI personalities, adding depth to this sophisticated simulation of feudal society.

BALANCED LEADERSHIP

This game serves as an authentic economic and tactical simulation, emphasizing the need to maintain an advantage over adversaries. Players must effectively manage knights, upgrade weaponry, and vie for control over strategic territories. Utilize espionage to monitor rival supply lines, infiltrate enemy defenses, enhance one’s own fortifications with heavy weaponry, and deploy elite knights for raids. However, maintaining loyalty among your ranks is crucial; respect is paramount, and betrayal is a significant threat. Players will face challenges such as settling disputes, quelling uprisings, promoting barons, organizing feasts, pursuing valuable intelligence, securing rare armaments, and making well-timed donations to the church.

Despite its retro aesthetic, Respect of the Realm provides a rigorous simulation of medieval power dynamics characterized by honor, deceit, risk, and reward.

With three difficulty settings and two game modes complemented by advanced AI capabilities, players can engage in challenges suitable for both newcomers and seasoned strategy enthusiasts.

Playable maps include Northern France during the Hundred Years' War (available for free) and unlockable maps featuring the Crusades. Upcoming expansions are set to feature additional scenarios such as the Mongol invasion of Kiev and Japan's Genpei War.

Building on concepts from Respect Money Power, this title enhances gameplay through improved tuning along with new features: enhanced fortifications, infiltrators, diverse weapons and armor options, truces and duels, a wisdom attribute, adjusted difficulty settings for both novice and expert players, accelerated end-game pacing, tutorial customization options, increased recruitment possibilities, and modified systems for respect, piety, valor, and assassination mechanisms.
